Billy was knocked down by a hit and run driver in a stolen car in Harpurhey, he had just returned from the hospital where his Mum Maggie had died and was on his way to meet up with family members who were all grieving.
Billy was on a life support machine for 4 days and sadly his life support machine was turned off as there was nothing more that could be done for him. He was buried on the same day as his Mum Margaret in adjoining graves in Moston cemetary.
The person responsible was never caught and the stolen car was later found abandoned on Winston Road in Moston.
Billy left behind 4 sons Stephen, Kevin, Wayne, Billy and wife Marge.
He is very sadly missed by family and friends but will never be forgotten.
